1, Description:
Isopropanol is an important chemical product and raw material. Mainly used in pharmaceutical, cosmetics, plastics,
spices, coatings, etc.
2, Bactericidal action:
Isopropanol is a medium-effect disinfectant that can kill bacterial propagules, viruses, and fungi, but cannot kill
bacterial spores. Isopropyl alcohol kills some bacteria and viruses better than ethanol, and the opposite for others.
Overall, isopropyl alcohol has a higher bactericidal effect than ethanol.
3, Application:
Like ethanol, isopropanol is mainly used for skin disinfection, hand disinfection, and disinfection of medical devices
such as eyeglasses, microscope eyeglasses and objective lenses, ultrasonic probes, stethoscopes, etc. Its actual
concentration is usually 70%. In addition, isopropanol can be used in the preparation of compound disinfectant
instead of ethanol.
